North Balgowlah School of Dance regularly enters students in RAD Ballet exams, Rambert Contemporary Dance exams and ISTD Modern exams. Students develop good posture and alignment, show substantial improvement and have an increased confidence in their dancing as a result of preparing for and participating in exams.

The school has had great success in examinations, with students enjoying and rising to the challenge. Students nominated by a teacher to undertake an exam, are required to attend 90% of classes, rehearsals and any holiday classes leading up to the exam. In the case of RAD examinations, students are expected to attend two classes per week from Primary grade onwards.
