Teresa Geraghty Founder and principal of North Balgowlah School of Dance is a fully qualified teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD). With over 24 years of teaching experience she is a highly sought after teacher having run workshops in London and Regional NSW as well as directing her own school.

Anna Hugo is a classically trained dancer from the Northern Beaches. She studied RAD with Tanya Pearson achieving Advanced with Honours and went on to complete a Diploma in Dance at the Australian Ballet School Melbourne. There she danced with the Dancer’s company which toured around Australia. Anna completed in the Prix de Lausanne, Switzerland, and the Genee Awards, London. She has taught RAD classical ballet, Contemporary and Jazz for 20 years across all age groups at Dance Schools and Primary/High Schools. She has also adjudicated at various Eisteddfods and Scholarships. Anna teaches with a particular focus on the health and well being of dancers. It was her interest in this area and in recovering from injuries that lead to her completing her Gyrotonic® and Gyrokinesis® (Yoga for dancers) certifications in New York and Miami some of which she studied with the creator of Gyrotonic. She currently teaches Gyrotonic and incorporates a lot of these principles into her dance classes, ensuring that her students are concerned with a healthy physicality as well as good technique.

Lissa Woolven has been dancing for 20 years, starting at age 3. After completing her HSC and receiving a band six in dance she performed in ‘Call Backs’, Lissa then studied dance full time at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Alexandria. She completed her Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Advance 1 exam and also the ISTD Modern Associates teaching certificate. She is qualified high school teacher, having complete her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education (Secondary), majoring in English and Dance at Macquarie University. Lissa has been teaching at North Balgowlah School of Dance for 6 years.

Maddison Sparkes started her dance training at age 3 and has studied under Teresa Geraghty for her whole dance career. She has trained in all genres including Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Hip-Hop, Tap and more. Maddison completed her Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Advanced 1 Exam as well as her Modern Advanced 1 ISTD Exam. She will be attending in 2021 Macquarie university Studying a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Dance and Bachelor of Social Sciences majoring in social injustice.
