The Annual Concert 2019 – Important Information

Dear Parents and Students,

The following newsletter contains important information regarding The Annual Concert.
Our annual concert is to be held on Sunday 3rd November at the Glen Street Theatre, Glen Street, Belrose (opposite the Glenrose Shopping Centre).

Classes will continue after the concert until Saturday 14th December. Please note it is advisable to read this letter and to mark all dates in your diary.

SUNDAY 3rd NOVEMBER – TWO CONCERTS 12.00 NOON & 4.00PM
The following classes will be in the 12.00 noon Performance Only

  • Monday Tiny Tots (9.30am class) Picnic Dance
  • Tuesday Primary Class (3.45pm) Moana & Roar

The following classes will be in the 4.00pm Performance Only

  • Thursday Tiny Tots (10.00am class) Picnic Dance
  • Thursday Primary Class (3.45pm) Butterfly Ball & Move Your Feet
  • Saturday Tiny Tots (8.30am class) Flamingo’s Dance

COSTUMES

  • Costume fittings will be spread out over the first two weeks of term.
  • Costumes are organized by the Dance school and hired to you at $30 each, this is added to your Term 4 invoice.
  • Students will be issued with a list of costume requirements for each dance, i.e. tights, shoes etc. It is the responsibility of students and parents to ensure they have all relevant requirements.
  • Hair requirements are also listed on the costume note.
  • The costume requirement lists will be e mailed separately to each class over the coming weeks.

BLOCH 20% DISCOUNT

  • BLOCH at Warringah Mall are offering a 20% discount over from 17th – 20th October
  • You will need a Bloch Privilege card to receive the discount.
  • An email will be sent that you can also use as proof to receive the discount
  • See Teresa at the studio if you have not got a Bloch discount card

TICKETS

  • Telephone bookings can be made from Thursday 10 th October at 10.00am Glen Street Box Office Telephone 9975 1455.
  • Tickets will also available online.
  • Tickets can only be purchased from the Glen Street Theatre Box Office

  • Seating is numbered and limited for each performance. When ordering tickets please nominate the performance required i.e.; 12.00 noon or 4.00pm
  • You will need to purchase a ticket for your child if you wish to bring them into the theatre to watch after they have performed.

TIMETABLE FOR GLEN STREET REHEARSAL – TUESDAY 29TH OCTOBER

  • There will be a rehearsal at the Glen Street Theatre on Tuesday 29th October (see timetable below). All students are to attend this rehearsal to orientate themselves with the stage and dressing rooms.
  • The rehearsal at Glen Street theatre is not in the running order of the concert to eliminate the amount of time students need to be at the theatre on this day.

REHEARSAL INFORMATION

  • FOOD AND DRINKS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE AUDITORIUM
  • UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE ANY PERSONS ALLOWED TO BE IN THE FRONT FOYER OF THE THEATRE ON THE DAY OF THE REHEARSALS.
  • ALL DROP OFFS AND PICK UPS ON THE DAY OF THE REHEARSAL ARE TO BE MADE AT THE REAR OF THE THEATRE THROUGH THE STAGE DOOR. NO VEHICLES ARE TO BE LEFT UNATTENDED IN THE DROP OFF AREA OF THE CARPARK.
  • PARENTS / CARERS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE AUDITORIUM DURING REHEARSALS – YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE ENSURE YOU TAKE HOME ALL YOUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS, ESPECIALLY YOUR DANCE SHOES
  • STUDENTS NEED TO COME DRESSED IN THEIR REGULAR DANCE
  • UNIFORM TO REHEARSALS AND BRING THEIR REQUIRED SHOES LABELLED WITH THEIR NAME

VOLUNTEERS

  • Students are supervised by senior students during the performance, however the initial getting dressed and pack up of costumes is heavily reliant on volunteers.
  • Volunteers from each group are needed to assist for a short time prior to, at interval and after each performance (i.e. FIRST PERFORMANCE 11.30 am and SECOND PERFORMANCE 3.30 pm) on the concert day
  • Volunteers will assist with changes in hair styles at interval and ensure costumes are reset at the completion of the first performance and packed away in tubs at the completion of the second performance.

CONCERT DAY

  • Upon arrival on the concert day, parents deliver students one (1) hour prior to the show start time to the volunteers of each dance group.
  • The volunteers will be at the allocated dressing room, parents may then proceed to take their seats in the auditorium. Young students who are performing in Act 1
    only are to be collected from the backstage dressing room at interval. Please pack some colouring in and pencils (no texta’s) or a sticker book.
  • Please note each class will have a large plastic tub labeled with their class. Kindly ensure your costume is placed in the tub at the completion of the concert or hung up on a hanger.
  • It is advisable for young students to place the clothes they arrive in into a labelled plastic bag upon changing into their costume to avoid lost clothing. Please bring your own bag with your students name clearly marked on the bag.
  • DON’T LOSE ANY COSTUMES BETWEEN SHOWS!
  • UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES MAY ANY COSTUME BE TAKEN HOME
  • Students may change into comfortable clothing (nothing to be pulled over the head) to eat and drink between shows.
  • All children must be supervised by an adult during the break between shows, it is advised that children bring a packed lunch and a water bottle.
  • Only water is to be consumed during performances.

MAKEUP REQUIREMENTS
Foundation, powder, blush, brown eye shadow, red lipstick, Mascara

CONCERT VIDEO ORDER (ONLINE VIMEO DOWNLOAD AFTER PURCHASE)

  • The Concert will be available on VIMEO DOWNLOAD.
  • Order forms (details below required with payment) must be completed together with payment of $50.00 (inclusive of gst) no later than Saturday 26th October. Orders will not be accepted unless accompanied by payment.
  • Please note no private videos are allowed in the auditorium. I am advised by the facility that on the spot checks will be made to ensure no private videos are being made.
  • The download will be available shortly after the show. Instructions on how to use the VIMEO will be available closer to the time of its availability.
  • Further a photographer will be attending on the concert date to photograph the students.
